Project 3

I chose an acorn because it’s a natural piece of nature and it reminds me of going to my families lake house in Michigan, where my brothers and I would gather them and throw them into the fire pit because they would pop open with a snapping sound. I noticed the top part of the acorn where it attaches tot he tree has a lot of layers and details and this is an area I really focused on when modeling. Next time I would focus on the bottom more because the tip of the acorn has natural elements with multiple layers where I did well showing but different parts are longer then they are naturally. I also converted it into a candle holder but after looking at it, it would be a better cork screw.

Project 4

I choose to create a space that resembles my plan to create for an independent study. The space is the back of a futuristic airplane facing the cockpit, but it has natural elements from a World War II plane for paratroopers. The idea behind it is to be able to model and see how I will actually build it in real life and to get an idea of the space needed. I started with the general frame of the plane, but only created one side, then continued on to the floor and the side walling. I then added the seating and ropes to the walls. After this I added detail into the flooring to show how each side would be connected. Once the overall structure was done I continued to add details further inside a panel that will have a projection. Once this was all done I then added the back wall that represents a green screen and then copied the entire side and mirrored it in order to created the entire interior. Project 1

The object I chose was a plastic golf tee. I ended up using two because I accidentally lost the first one, but I used dimensions that are permitted on the course. Because it was two different tees it became close. Unfortunately the two times I attempted to print it, the tee did not become a tee and it was just a mess. Creating the tee to scale definitely worked. The top where it holds the ball had to many parts and didn't have the strength to hold up, which cause it to fall and this didn't work. Next time I would create a support ring that could be taken off so that it wouldn't fall and break during printing.

Project 2

I chose the Dark Saber because I am a huge Star Wars fan and apart from fans no company has made a physical version yet. The saber is in three tv shows two cartoons (Star Wars The Clone Wars and Rebels) and it is also in the newest live action show the Mandalorian at the end of the first season. Definitely worked compared tot the first project was I made the full structure and then added details after, instead of creating it piece by piece. What didn't work was trying to add one side that was curved after the main structure was finished and had some details already done. This caused me to redoing the entire thing. Next time I would make sure I had the structure done at the same time as the bottom rather then adding it afterwards and needing to adjust for the blade. Unfortunately this was going to be printed but due to school shutting down it did not.
